Hosting a choir needs a host account at choirandchorus.com. Rehearsals then run entirely on the host PC, with or without internet — singers never need an account.
No account needed. Upload your own sheet music — Choir & Chorus reads it into voice parts — and practise your part on this PC. The Singer plan has no choir, program or director, and does not download sheet music or MIDI files.
Add a song with + Add a song. Pick a song's tab, switch tracks on or off, and press Play. Singers hear their own part in their earbud; you can stop, jump to a bookmark, and play again as often as you like.
Put in your earbud first, turn the phone's media volume up, then tap Join. The director starts and stops the music on everyone's phone at once.
iPhone: make sure the ring/silent switch is not on silent, and keep this page open.
Upload the score and Choir & Chorus writes a MIDI part for every voice in it. MusicXML (.musicxml, .mxl, .xml from MuseScore, Finale, Sibelius, Dorico or CPDL) converts right here. A picture or PDF of the music is read right here by Choir & Chorus's music reader, and is kept as the song's sheet music.
A MIDI file with one track per voice (from any source) imports like a library song: each track becomes a part.
Tick a song to add it with its sheet music and its separate voice parts (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass as the arrangement has them), or use ⬇ Sheet / ⬇ MIDI to download just one of them. Each row says what the song comes with. Files are downloaded at that moment and kept on this PC. Songs already on this PC are marked.
Tick Full song for one recording of everything, and/or the individual voices. You record or upload each one in the next step; parts can be added later too.
For each part: ⏺ records it with this PC's microphone (four count-in clicks; parts marked 🎧 play in your headphones while you record), ⬆ uploads a file. Wear headphones.
Reads a picture or PDF of printed sheet music and writes the notes out, so Choir & Chorus can make a MIDI part for every voice. It is built in and works on this device, with nothing to install and nothing sent anywhere. For the best reading, use a PDF, or a clear, straight picture with the staves level.
Where this PC keeps the choir's files. Change a folder and the files already in it move with it (e.g. a OneDrive or Dropbox folder, or another drive).
